Events and Specials

•  October 31 is Halloween, and we will be joining in with the Main Street businesses handing out candy to the youngsters out trick-or-treating from 3:00-5:00 pm.
•  November 5 at 6:00 pm, join us for Science on Tap! We'll have a special presentation by Bill Hanshumaker from the Hatfield Marine Science Center about Pacific Northwest kelp and algae, followed by presentations from two Toledo artists - Heather Fortner and Becky Miller - who specialize in works utilizing or depicting kelp and algae.
•  A little later in November, on a date TBD, we will have a presentation by representatives of the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, Siuslaw National Forest, and the Mid Coast Watershed Council, who are partnering with the Wetlands Conservancy, Pacific Forest Trust to add large wood and plant native trees and shrubs in four central coast locations.  Find out more about this exciting project, which includes planting 600 large trees by helicopter, and which is already underway.
•  Time to start making/shopping for your weird ornaments for our second annual Weird Ornament Contest! First place wins a $200 gift card to Pig Feathers/Twisted Snout! Make that special ornament which, when hung on our tree, makes our judges say, "O.M.G.  That's the one!"  It must be able to be hung from a normal Christmas tree and last for years (so nothing made of candy, for example).  Any ornament entered becomes our property and we will hang the weird ornaments throughout the pub during the Christmas season every year forever.  Judging will take place on Saturday night, December 13, so get your entries in prior to that.
